The windows 10 Creators Update is the next major version of Windows 10, expected to roll out to the public for free early next year. The update introduces a bunch of consumer-focused features. Including new 3D design software Do amazing things in 3D and virtual reality (including MS Paint 3D). How To Get Windows 10 Creators Update

Windows 10 Creators Update will be available to all members of the Windows Insider Program. To try the beta, you’ll first need to sign up to become a Windows Insider:

Then, make sure you already have the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. If you’re not sure, download the Update Assistant here: Download Microsoft’s Update Assistant

Once that’s done, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program, and then select Get Started. Follow the on-screen prompts to update your PC.

You’ll then be able to select your Insider level. If you want the new Paint 3D Preview, for instance, then you’ll need to select either the Fast or Slow ring:

• Slow ring: (Most people!) If you are not a PC expert, but want to check out new features like the Paint 3D Preview

• Fast ring: (PC experts!) If you like to be on the cutting edge, this is the right ring for you. The Fast ring is for the more advanced people who are comfortable dealing with software bugs

Microsoft will then put you through a Compatibility check.  In terms of specs, you’ll need a PC with 2GB of RAM and either 20GB (for 64-bit) or 16GB (for 32-bit) of storage.

What Are New Features on Upcoming Windows 10 Creators Update

3D objects in Microsoft Paint 3D And Power Point

3D is a big deal in the Creator’s Update, and Microsoft demonstrated the operating system’s capability to quickly scan, modify, and print objects with 3D printers. This is the big one. Microsoft says it wants Windows 10 to be a home for not only virtual reality, but also augmented reality and holographic computing aka the HoloLens. To achieve what Microsoft is describing as its “2D to 3D journey”. It’s introducing a whole range of new tools that support 3D content.

Also introduced was an update to Microsoft’s venerable pack-in Paint application. It’s now “Paint 3D.” The application was shown transforming a set of pictures into a “3D memory”.  Which involved importing the scanned sand castle model and then manipulating photos of the presenter’s family around in it. The big tie-in, though, was with Minecraft Microsoft showed off the ability to export creations from Minecraft into an online studio at Remix3D. Where they can be modified in Paint 3D or printed on a 3D printer. Paint 3D also allows the creation of custom emoji and direct exporting of 3D-rotating images to Facebook.

In Paint 3D, for example, you can create basic 3D shapes, share them via SketchUp or to social networks, or even edit 3D objects you created in Minecraft and then send them to a 3D printer.

3D Integration on Power Point

In PowerPoint you can integrate 3D objects from a 3D clipart library, and then layer in movements (like spinning round a 3D tree) into your presentation. This is only the start, too, with Microsoft promising that 3D will be implemented across its “most popular applications” in the coming year.

The push for 3D isn’t limited to Paint Microsoft demonstrated the use of similar 3D flare in Powerpoint. Specifically, the Remix3D community is available as an import source in Microsoft Office applications, enabling users to add 3D models and animations to presentations and other documents (just in case your Powerpoint presentations weren’t big enough already).

Windows 10 Creators Update – New Improvements on Action Center

For more private gaming sessions, the company also unveiled a new service for creating your own tournaments with friends. Arena on Xbox Live software will handle all the administrative tasks like score tracking and leave users free to play.

Microsoft is also teaming up with a number of tech firms to make accessing VR cheaper. Partners including HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, and Acer will be creating new headsets with built-in six-degree-of-freedom head tracking, and with prices that start at $299. The aim, says Microsoft, is to make VR as accessible as possible. There’s no point in having so much support for 3D content if your users can’t look at it in virtual reality, too. We don’t have many details about these headsets at this point, but given that they’re standalone devices, we’re hoping for a better experience than phone-powered devices like the Samsung Gear VR.

The VR and AR headset support glimpsed was tantalizing but raised more questions than it answered. We don’t know if any of the alternate VR interfaces for Windows will make it onto competing VR headsets. Like the HTC Vive, or if there will be any compatibility crossover with SteamVR or Oculus Home. Microsoft and Valve have a fractious relationship in 2012, Valve CEO and founder Gabe Newell described Windows 8 as a “catastrophe” that threatened to do major harm to the PC market. Microsoft’s development of the Windows Store means that it is in direct competition with Valve and its Steam store. Putting the two companies in direct competition with one another, in spite of their interdependence.

And if you want to, you can even send an emoji-style nudge — it’ll appear right on that person’s desktop.
